Last Minute Stocking Stuffers

In an earlier post here, I explained our new idea family plan for this Christmas gift giving to ensure the kids get useful and meaningful gifts that we think will be more appreciated than the old style of ‘bulk’ gifting. It’s all about quality over quantity.

In this post I want to explain a few cool ideas for stocking stuffers – for teens and adults too. These items can be purchased all across Canada. PLUS, at the end you will see a very awesome giveaway for some stocking stuffers too.

Both of our kids are teens and as such require many toiletries and self care items. I have a great pile of goodies for their stockings and am being mindful of what is actually useful. Some of these products they have used before and some are new including the following:

GRAVOL® Natural Source® Ginger Liquid Gel Capsules, Tablets & Lozenges

This product prevents nausea and vomiting with naturally sourced ginger. It is useful for going on those long drives to family homes for Christmas get togethers. My daughter has long since had travel sickness and what I like about this product is that it is non-drowse. It is regularly priced at about $9.99 for this sized bottle. Might be a funny thing to toss in a stocking but it’ll come in handy with all our driving around.

Nair™ Wax Ready-Strips

These wax strips are ready to use – no warming or rubbing. They also work on really short hair so no waiting in between! I haven’t tried them yet but my daughter has been bugging me buy some for ages – she’ll be thrilled to see them in her stocking. The box cost about $15 for a pack of 40 wax strips and they say the results last about 4 weeks.

Arm & Hammer™ Truly Radiant™ Clean & Fresh Toothpaste

This is my favourite brand of toothpaste. My son has been trying out different whitening toothpastes lately and I think he’ll appreciate finding this in his stocking. This one uses baking soda and silica to remove stains, plus it has a fresh minty taste. At around $2.99 a box it’s a great deal. (I love the prices of all their toothpaste – very competative.)

Vitafusion™ SleepWell

This is a gummy supplement designed to help increase the total sleeptime. Each SleepWell gummy is made with 2.5 g of Melatonin, a natural hormone that is released by your body which then tells your body it’s time to sleep and helps to regulate your sleep pattern. I’ve used Melatonin myself and it works really well for me helping me get to sleep.

What I like about this version of Melatonin is that it doesn’t smell terrible like the usual product I take – it actually smells nice and fruity. My husband will be getting these too as he works shifts. My kids will like it since as teens they are always messing around with their sleep schedules and with this I don’t have to worry about them becoming dependant. You will find it for about $9.99 for a bottle of 60.

Batiste™ Dry Shampoo Original

I think I was one of the last people on the planet to learn about this product. From the UK, you spray it into your hair on those mornings you can’t take the time to have a shower. It absorbs the grease and refreshes your hair. I brought some of this home to try it out and my daughter and I love it. I don’t think my son has tried it yet but he’ll be getting some in his stocking. During the winter it is important to not overshower and dry out your skin so quick fixes like this are very useful. It’s usually around $8.99 for a big can and you don’t need a lot each time so it lasts a while. It smells great too.

Arm & Hammer™ Kid’s Spinbrush My Little Pony, and The Amazing Spider-Man Battery Brush

This is sort of a gag gift I do every year. I’ve always given them candy with the toothpaste in their stocking but I also like to add in a cutesy toothbrush. It’s like a throwback to when they were very little. They roll their eyes at me but I think they secretly like the memories it brings back. Plus they do use these brushes! These electric tooth brushes are a good price too at around $7.99.

Vitafusion™ Women’s Complete Multivitamin & Vitafusion™ Men’s Complete Multivitamin

Both my kids like to start off the new year with multivitamins – to get past the sick months with a little extra help. I’d like them to use these all year round but they don’t always stick to it. I’m hoping with this yummy chewable product they’ll be more inclined to take them all year. Filled with essential nutrients you can find them for around $9.99 for a a bottle of 60.

I’m very excited to announce that if you would like to get this entire collection to stuff your stockings with, here is your chance in this giveaway! A random name will be selected from the entrants. Only available in Canada.
