Christmas Memories

Do you remember when you believed in Santa? My bedroom was at the end of the hall directly down from the living room. I remember waking up Christmas Eve after everyone had gone to sleep to hear some rustling noises in the living room - it was quite the 'a clatter'. There was a faint glow coming under my door too. I held my breath and could hear clunky sounds from up on the roof that must have been the reindeer hooves. I was so scared Santa would find out I was awake and then I wouldn't be able to have…

Guilty Pleasure #3

Dear Kitten Videos I admit it I really enjoy these videos. The voice, the actions - so purrfect. Just how I imagine they'd sound in real life. (Good job Purina.) Have you seen them before? They are always good for a laugh. Please join me in viewing these now - if we do it together we won't feel as guilty right? ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4Sn91t1V4g&list=PL-J8qfqfOihN1z7heq-iP_gjOQKvR_jjG https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1194saQTa8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yNSF7ljOoU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrnIZXGU1mU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZ9kSMmetd0

Valentine’s Day Game Changer

This is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. This Valentine's Day, be sure to invest in the very latest gizmo guaranteed to keep the love strong. We should all get one! Or two! (If only it was real!) I think it would be even better if it was for 5 days though. Anyway, just in time for Valentine's Day! For the lover who has everything.

Special ONEDAY Announcement!

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Last December I had the pleasure of working with a new app (OneDay) to discover just how truly wonderful it is. Since then I have made videos with pretty much every person I come into contact with. (Including my mother in law over Skype!) Some are pretty awesome and I share them. Others? Well let's just say the payments to not post them are due weekly. (Bwahaha!) Now I know many of you have told me how excited you are about this whole idea and the app itself but have not been able to completely take advantage…

Keurig 2.0

My Keurig 2.0

I've posted, Tweeted and showcased many, many Keurig 2.0 moments over the past month since we received this beauty: Now every morning the coffee is hot, ready and fresh. When we were told we'd be receiving a Keurig 2.0 to evaluate for Influenster, we were so excited. Thing 1 and Thing 2, very active in coffee land, went nuts! Hubs gets up at 4am, the rest of us get up at 6:30 during the week. This machine has a timer that can be set at the butt crack of dawn so hubs will have some help in the kitchen. We've…

Inside Studio 65

The Steven and Chris Show Today I went on an adventure to the Steven and Chris Show with my lovely friends Yvette, Debbie and Bev. I almost didn't make it since my car died at the gas station for no apparent reason. With cables in hand I found a nice driver to give me a boost. I think my car tried to freeze to death from the cold. It was a very cold day in Toronto. -18°c with a windchill of -30°c. In case you aren't aware, 'windchill' refers to how cold it actually feels, especially when the wind is…

The Genie in Your Pocket

Fun with Siri: Sometimes Siri is confused. Siri needs to learn to just do what she's told.   Then there are the random questions:   Sometimes Siri confuses me, (She's a tricky one):   If Siri says it is so, so mote it be:   Siri, what are you really?   Perhaps I spend too much time with Siri these days:   My favourite Siri moment:   Pocket Genie. Ah Siri - you are my waiting room essential. If you are interested in learning about the voice behind Siri, check out this video: http://youtu.be/T6boqUfzUD8 Leave your favourite Siri discussion in the comments.  …

The Santa Lie

When I found out the truth about Santa I felt betrayed. I am the oldest of 4 and was apparently the last to know. I made a decision then as a (I'll admit it) pre-teen that I would not lie to my kids. Hubs was the one who insisted on answering questions traditionally. He wanted them to get into it full force. I went along with it as much as I could without lying. When the questions came I would tell them that it was all done in Santa's 'spirit' of love and giving.  This was the magic of the story in our house.…

Free Video Tip

A pet peeve of mine has always been cell phone videos that are taken from cell phones not turned sideways. This first video below, while the subject matter is adorable, was filmed wrong. I admit that I filmed it before being enlightened. I am posting it and exposing myself to scrutiny so you will have the opportunity to learn from my mistakes. ;) The Wrong Way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcuqwQmu8K8 As you can see, having the cell phone in the upright, vertical or portrait position, you lose out on a lot of the scene. All you see is this skinny strip of the world.…

Bras off!

It is 10:10pm and I've been sitting here for hours trying to come up with my absolute last blog post of the year, (32 in a row too). The Things have taken off for fun New Year's Eve shenanigans, Hubs is on the way home from a work day that started at 4am, and I am trying not to fall asleep. To say things have changed over the past decades is an understatement. 9pm is the new midnight woohoo! How did I keep up with myself in the 'before'? (Before kids that is.) It really seemed to matter. Helena McMann,…

How to be a Super Hero!

Something very special happened today. Thing 1 donated blood for the first time. What a mature, selfless thing to do. He's only 17. He joins a long line of donor's in this family including his Dad (10 years) and Grandpa (who was a donor since it started until his death in 1999.)  Click here to find out: Who does my blood donation help? Two other teens we know were there as well. Yay teens! Each month Thing 2 volunteers at the blood bank and plans to donate as soon as she reaches 17. It was a long wait so I decided to…
