Harvard has figured out how to store an unbelievable amount of information in DNA! DNA is the map that makes up every living organism. Now, somehow, DNA can be turned into storage for up to 5.5 petabits of information, approximately 700 terabytes.

For more information you have to read the article that they published.

Does that mean our phone memories will improve soon? 16 GB just doesn’t cut it for me now. I miss my 32 GB phone.

I did a little research and found out that while the exact amount of data already contained in DNA is almost impossible to calculate, the estimates show that it is many thousands times greater than 700 TB. Wow.
