My Keurig 2.0

Keurig 2.0

I’ve posted, Tweeted and showcased many, many Keurig 2.0 moments over the past month since we received this beauty:

Now every morning the coffee is hot, ready and fresh.

When we were told we’d be receiving a Keurig 2.0 to evaluate for Influenster, we were so excited. Thing 1 and Thing 2, very active in coffee land, went nuts! Hubs gets up at 4am, the rest of us get up at 6:30 during the week. This machine has a timer that can be set at the butt crack of dawn so hubs will have some help in the kitchen.

We’ve never had this type of machine before and I have to admit I was concerned for the coffee flavour it would produce. (More on this later.)

Then it came…

…and this happened:

Since that day we have had time to try out the sample flavours included in the box. Also, this lovely machine came with a carafe that fits 4 cups of coffee in it – great for Christmas morning or weekends. It’s really nice to have the option to brew more than one cup at a time.

We’ve picked up a few (ahem) other packs of the K-cups since then. K-cups are available all over the place and there are many types. We made sure to find ones that would work with the 2.0.

Thing 1 and Thing 2 like the Van Houtte Vanilla Hazelnut best. Hubs likes the Keurig Kahlua, and I like the Keurig Donut House blend. The machine has the option of different sizes of cup, strong and hot chocolate settings. (Plus, you can pick different designs for the back of the screen if you are so inclined.) It makes tea and hot chocolate too.

I have found I prefer setting the Keurig 2.0 for ‘strong’ for me. This gives me a fuller bodied and richer flavour.

This is not difficult to use. This is not rocket science.  To recap, the wildly talented Thing 2 demonstrates EXACTLY how you do it:

I’m very grateful to have been given the opportunity to evaluate this new machine. I received the Keurig 2.0 complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. I do recommend it to anyone who would love the convenience of a hot beverage any time of the day – or night.
