This is a recipe my family loves. I think it came from a Pampered Chef cookbook originally. It is meaty, cheesy, full of flavour and super delicious. Let’s get right into it now.
You will need:
2 crescent roll tubes
1 LB ground beef (or ground pork, turkey whatever you like)
1 packet of taco seasoning
1 1/2 cups grated cheese – I use nacho flavoured but you can use cheddar, mozzerella, whatever you want
Shredded lettuce
Diced tomatoes or salsa
Sour cream
What you will do:
- Preheat oven to 350ºC. Brown the meat, drain fat if necessary. I mix a couple tablespoons taco seasoning in with 1/3 cup water then add it to the meat. Stir.
2. Wrap a pan with tin foil and spray with non-stick spray. Arrange triangles from both packs in a circle – wide ends in and points to the outside. Put a couple of the triangles in the middle to make a base for the meat mixture. ( I know it looks ridiculous. Bear with me.)3. Sprinkle meat mixture in a circle inside the crescent rolls, then sprinkle 1 cup of the cheese over the meat. Pull crescent roll points over meat and cheese and tuck in. ( Yes it is still so ridiculous looking. )
Bake until pastry is golden brown ( approximately 30 minutes.) Like this:
4. After you slice it add lettuce, tomato, salsa, sour cream and cheese to each slice as you like. Taadaa!
